Greece is famous all over the world for its fabulous sandy beaches with crystal water.

In brief:

All the Greek beaches have their own beauty and charm. The beaches below are considered the most beautiful in Greece (in my and public opinion).

Elafonisi beach

A little island called Elafonisi (or Elafonissos) is connected to the rest of Crete by a thin reef that can be crossed when the sea is calm. This islet is located 82 kilometers northwest of Chania Town and can be accessed by boat from Paleohora or by automobile from the village of Vathi, up to a point and then across the reef. The paradise-like Elafonisi (Island of Deer) boasts a beautiful beach with pink coral sand and clear waves. It is regarded as one of the nation's most gorgeous beaches. This mysterious location was long abandoned, but it has since gained popularity and may get rather crowded in the peak of summer season.

Balos beach

Balos, located 60 kilometers northwest of Chania Town, is one of the most stunning beaches in Crete and one of the nicest beaches in all of Greece. The hills above the beach give it the appearance of a lagoon. Balos features a gentle seabed, white sand, and clear water. There is a rocky island named Gramvoussa opposite the beach, and on top of it, there is a tall Venetian castle with a stunning perspective of the area and the sea.

From Kaliviani, a village adjacent to Kissamos, a track road leads to Balos. A four-wheel automobile can travel the approximately 10-kilometer track road. Otherwise, travelers can travel from Kissamos by excursion boat.

Porto Katsiki beach

Porto Katsiki is one of the main beach attractions of Lefkada and among the top beaches in Greece and in the Mediterranean. It is located 44 km southwest of the island's capital and close to Athani village.

One of Lefkada's most remarkable themes is the natural splendor of Porto Katsiki. The Ionian's deep blue waters create a unique dichotomy with abrupt white cliffs, which create a wild but gorgeous backdrop. The surrounding area is covered in lush greenery, providing one of the most picturesque settings on earth. This well-known sandy beach is covered in numerous loungers and umbrellas, yet the cliffs provide some lovely shaded areas for some quiet and peaceful sunbathing. You can get to the shore by taking a few steps. For thousands of tourists from around the world, Porto Katsiki is just enticing and offers a distinctive sightseeing opportunity. Apart from driving a car, it is simply the finest way to get to this beach and is frequently used by private yachts.

No. 4 Myrtos beach

Myrtos beach

Myrtos is, undoubtedly, one of the main poles of attraction in Kefalonia. It is located 29 km north of Argostoli, in a beautiful area around huge verdant hills. Myrtos has gained a worldwide reputation and has been constantly included in travel magazines among the most beautiful and impressive beaches in the world. It has been awarded many times for its cleanness and natural beauty. The natural beauty of Myrtos is the trademark of Kefalonia and one of the most photographed places in Greece. The beach has a semi-circular shape surrounded by impressive white rocky cliffs with lush vegetation on top of them creating a spectacular setting. The lush green area, the abrupt terrain, the white pebbles and the crystal waters compose a stunning scenery. The beach is well-organized to its most extent, with umbrellas and sundecks while a small part remains completely unspoiled, ideal for total isolation.

Myrtos' western coast offers breathtaking sunset views. Visitors have easy access to a variety of amenities, as well as a nice snack bar with cool drinks. All modes of transportation can quickly and easily reach Myrtos. You will take in some breathtaking aerial vistas as you make your way down the beach. Divarata, the settlement nearest to the beach, has a few lodging alternatives, mostly apartments and villas/houses rather than hotels. The lovely Assos, one of the Ionian Islands' most endearing settlements and a 20-minute drive from Myrtos, might be worth staying in, nevertheless.

No. 5 Navagio beach (Shipwreck beach)

Navagio beach (Shipwreck beach)

The beach of Navagio or Shipwreck cove is the most famous beach of Zakynthos lying on the western side of the Ionian island, close to Anafotiria village. The Shipwreck is one of the most photographed sights in Greece. It is considered as one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. It was initially called Agios Georgios but owes its new name to the shipwreck of a boat that transported illegal cigarettes, in 1983. The ship was washed ashore. With the years passing, the sand completely surrounded the ship which looks now as it emerges from it. The vestiges of the ship can be seen in the middle of the large white sandy beach which has amazing turquoise and crystalline waters. Huge vertical cliffs of white rocks are surrounding the sand creating a unique and enchanting image. To reach this paradise, one has to take a little boat from the small port of Porto Vromi. These taxi boats are leaving every hour and the trip is about 30 minutes.
